There's a picture of a girl on my wall. She said I have to be perfect. How can I be perfect When I am flesh and bone, Not paper, plastic or perfume. She said I should lose weight, Said my arms aren't thin enough.
Somebody destroy this paper girl. What does she know of my world? She's a cutout, an expression. A huge impression On the millions of real girls who turn their beauty plastic.
Remember, It's not murder to burn paper. But it is murder when a beautiful girl burns herself, because she was told she should be perfect.

Comments Douglas Feb 16, 2009 | A very nice premise. I've added this to the featured gallery. Welcome to the site! :) ~Posted by Douglas, Feb 16, 2009 | Niconic Feb 23, 2009 | Thank you for this, I had my daughter read it as well.
~Posted by Niconic, Feb 23, 2009 | Jessablue Feb 25, 2009 | :) I'm glad I could help. I have a huge collage of cut outs from seventeen magazine and cosmo & such on a wall in my bedroom, and one day I just got sick of seeing those unrealistic images. ~Posted by Jessablue, Feb 25, 2009 | Audrey_E_Marquis Nov 2, 2009 | I totally understand the message behind this, and I relate. You relay it beautifully. Well done! ~Posted by Audrey_E_Marquis, Nov 2, 2009 | Frank Mar 31 | I really liked the message... but thats it! Imagination specks quite nicly into this. ~Posted by Frank, Mar 31 |
