Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

The following is a piece of writing submitted by 'Chelle on January 13, 2010
"I was teaching my English class about sonnets, and made them all write one, so I decided I should try too. My first attempt!"

Sonnet 1

When I in wintry weather call you home
and through the falling flakes you swiftly fly
it seems that I no longer solo roam
but hand in hand we walk beneath the sky.
Then snow that covers all the world in white
amd cold that numbs each tree and blade and stream
will melt beneath the torrent of your light
and bring the summer of my dearest dream.
Our love, though young, will blossom like the rose
that blooms in splendor midst her thorny stem.
Our flame won't waiver when the cold wind blows
nor freeze when Winter comes around again.
This love will thrive, will hold its own, compell.
So hold it close and ever warm it well.
