Saying Goodbye - "Last Goodbye"

After seeing this prompt, I thought I might write a "Last Goodbye" song that has a bit of a different twist than the standard "Last Goodbye" songs that have been written over and over by many, many musicians.

A little background for the song..... Consider three friends going through this situation. Two of the friends are high school sweethearts and the third is a friend of both. The girl has great aspirations and expectations and needs to leave her small home town to achieve these dreams. The boyfriend is happy living the small town life, working at the local factory and has no desire to leave "home." The two love each other and always will. The friend of both is telling the boyfriend he has to let her go. The boyfriend responds and finally the girlfriend says her last goodbye. I hope you all enjoy.

Verse 1:

She says she may never pass this way again
She's done all she can do from here
She no longer wants to lead this life
When she's got so much to give
What you gotta do is clear

Chorus 1:

When she says her last goodbye
Brother, won't you save your best line
Save it for someone else
This is not about you

To change her mind
This is something she's got to do

Nineteen hours, 6 minutes and the rubber meets the road
