The Cat's out of the Bag

I recently spent a month in Malaysia with my husbands family. My twin sisters in law Jenny and Joyce were celebrating their sixtieth birthdays. The restaurant was booked, the cake secretly ordered and matching bouquets of flowers ordered in advance for the two husbands of the twins to give to their wives as an additional surprise.
The twins and their older sister went in one car.The rest of the family in another.We in the second car stopped on the way to pick up the flowers. On our arrival Jenny asked my niece in Chinese why we were late. She replied in Chinese that the traffic was bad. Joyce then asked me in English and I also lied and said the traffic had held us up.
Joyce then asked my nephew who has mild learning difficulties and he, unable to prevaricate told the truth and said we had stopped to pick up the flowers. Amid gales of laughter the cat was out of the bag!
