Writing Resources from Fifteen Minutes of Fiction

"This is rather tongue in cheek, but I hope you understand what I'm getting at."

He Sees You When You’re Sleeping, He Knows When You’re Awake

There’s someone who is watching us, it’s quite well understood,
That’s why, (at least this time of year), we’re trying to be good,

With countless workers helping him, that none of us can see,
Who spend their time behind the scenes, assisting tirelessly.

This someone’s keeping track of us, and everything we do,
When everything is tallied up, then we’ll get what’s our due.

Just go to sleep and, when you wake, you’ll get your just reward.
That seems a concept that could leave us feeling rather awed.

But everyone I know, it seems, must be a real fine soul,
For very few anticipate the likelihood of coal.

And, though he sees our every act at midnight or at noon,
We never give him thought unless we think he’s coming soon.

Here’s one who’s everywhere at once, and knows our every deed,
And yet we feel so free to pay him very little heed.

Thus, after thought, I must conclude, though you make think it odd,
The evidence is very clear that Santa must be God.
