Disappointment Haiku

Young and small I was
Wanting to adult in life
I wanted freedom

Political things
Troubled me as I learned them.
Yet help I could not.

I yearned to adult
To be free from this childhood
I was stuck waiting.

Then the day did come
Of high school graduation
Life I had to face

I got my own place
My own job with bills to pay
And I missed childhood.

I missed the freedom
From these responsibilities.
That adulting brought.

It's all irony
I felt trapped as a young child
And as an adult
