Pebble In The Sky

Asimov wrote a trilogy of books set in the days of the Galactic Empire, and of the three books, "Pebble In The Sky" is the best. I first read it as a teenager, and have gone back and re-read it several times over the years.
This is a story involving time travel; a simple twentieth century man is thrust into the future Galactic Empire by a freak accident, and discovers that his home world is a radioactive mess which is despised by all of the galaxy.
