My Trip To the Moon...

When we were young a trip to the moon was an adventure filled with fantasy. We were told in school what the moon was made of but it was merely conjecture, for no one knew for sure. I now find myself to be one of the few to actually get a chance to make that trip to see or myself.

After rigorous training and being schools on space travel I am finally boarding my ship for takeoff. Even though I know what to expect, I am still nervous about my trip. Yet after the trauma of my intense blastoff I find myself settling into my flight. At first the feeling of weightlessness made me feel queasy but soon it went away. When I had time I just let myself float around the cabin and to me it felt close to swimming.

In no time at all we were orbiting the moon and preparing for sit down. I found myself nervous yet again on experiencing something new. Our lander hit the moon with a thunk and I new my thoughts on the moon being made out of green cheese were incorrect. Once in our suits and out of the lander, I discovered that the lighter gravity on the moon almost as enjoyable as being in space. I felt like superman, as I was sure I could leap tall buildings. Of course, on the moon there were no tall buildings but at least I could jump high.

We found no green cheese, no man in the moon, oh and no little green men either. Nothing but moon dust and moon rocks but the view of Earth was fantastic and that alone was worth the trip to me and I felt sadness as we climbed aboard the lander to depart. Sure the trip cost us a few billion but to say we achieved little would be erroneous just by the things we disproved.
