About

Hello all,

My name is Kirsten. Yes, I am indeed aware of the fact that this name is typically associated with those of the female gender, however I can assure you I am not a member of that particular group. As one can probably imagine, this does at times cause a rather decent degree of confusion among those whom I come into contact with and thus I field many questions regarding that aspect of my life. I find it to be one of those funny yet annoying situations that seem to make themselves known in life, but I have come to terms with it.

Anyway, I am 22, currently residing in a small western Maine town, where I have resided my entire life. It's a nice place and all, but I do one day hope to surpass the confines of my surroundings and venture out farther into the world. For now though, until that time arrives, I am employed at a local movie theater, where I am a projectionist, thereby, I quite literally run the show. It's an alright job, I enjoy it for the most part, but I certainly have absolutely no desire to remain there the rest of my life. I already fear I have been there too long.

I have been writing lyrics/poetry/music on and off for nearly the last 10 years. I recently had a slight burst of creativity and picked it up again, with the hopes of being more prolific than I have been in the past. Being the perfectionist/procrastinator that I am, I tend to work at a rather slow and methodic pace. I have very few items "finished." So, I do highly doubt that I will be posting anything all that often, but I shall make my best attempt.

very good. I'll pick you up at Flagship so we can go to Flagship. I'll see you tomorrow at 5:00.

Do you want me to pick you up at work, and grab something to eat somewhere? Or do you want to go home and have me pick you up there between 6 and 6:30?

Yeah, I'm interested in seeing the "rewind" movie - it's one of those ones that could be either really stupid or really funny, but I'm holding out hope for "really funny".

So I'd definitely go. Want to do tomorrow? Looks like 6:55 is the only showing.

Okay. Thought I'd ask. :) Have you heard from your brother lately? I emailed him a couple weeks ago, but haven't heard back.

Hey! Have you seen 10,000 BC? Have any interest in seeing it? :)

Does that mean I should exclude it from being considered for publication in the anthology?

Kirsten, I'm looking at "Seize The Blade", and I'm trying to understand a couple lines:

We are one, join in the crusade
A cadence of the free, seize the blade

Is the meaning of this that "seize the blade" is a song of those in the crusade? In other words, should it be punctuated like this:

We are one, join in the crusade -
A cadence of the free: "Seize the blade."

Okay, thanks for the advice. Ben and I went to see Vantage Point, and I WOULD recommend it. In fact, if you wanted to see it, I'd go see it again. :)

scratch what I said about Tuesday afternoon - I'm taking Jason and Ita to the airport tomorrow.

Yeah, I can understand that. I'll probably go see one of them today...if you wanted to see the other either tomorrow or Thursday matinee, I'd go see it with you.

(Sounds like you're more interested in Jumper - as am I - so maybe I'll go see a different one today)

Hey! do you have any interest in seeing Spiderwick, Jumper or Waterhorse? I was thinking about going to see one of those tomorrow afternoon or evening.

Aiighh...did you hear that Heath Ledger died today? :-/

Actually, since the storm's supposed to be over by early afternoon, we could probably do the late afternoon showing, and avoid more crowds. I could pick you up at 3:30 for that one. I'll let you decide which you want to do.

Cool. I won't call you right now, because you're probably still asleep. Let's plan on the 7:15 showing - that'll give them time to clean up the storm mess before I have to drive through it. I'll pick you up at 6:45ish?

you're probably working Friday night, right? and Saturday night?

Hey Kirsten,

How's it going? Ben and I had a nice visit with your brother last week (though we spent most of our time watching LOST). :)

Do you have any interest in going to see Cloverfield sometime? And do you know if you're getting it at Oxford?

Cool. I have the opposite problem when writing songs, I can come up with music and melodies, just no good words.

That's right...I think you may have told me that over thanksgiving. Do you have and tunes for these songs yet, or just lyrics?

Okay. See you tomorrow at 11:00.
