To the sea, I would go. There, I would wash
my tears with salt. Dance in the sand and laugh.
Sand like salt runs through my fingers. Carved
sandcastles on the shore by pleasant waves.
Lie out at night watch stars sparkle pink.
His voice as clear as morning dew. It
lifts my heart above the breezy cove.
The naked walls I trust to hold my name
when a thousand years grow close.
The cave wall now a tree where I scratched
his name. After a kiss upon my
cheek so dark with ancient shadows.Copyright 2015 Topazshell. All rights reserved. FifteenMinutesOfFiction.com has been granted non-exclusive rights to display this work. For permission to reprint this item, please contact the author.
